-ant Attorney David Grainer Dies David Grainer, an attor- ney and former principal at- torney for the Detroit Street Railways (now Department of Transportation), died Feb. 15 at age 63. Born in Russia, Mr. Grainer lived 61 years in Detroit. He served with the U.S. Armed Forces Red Arrow Division in the South Pacific in World War II. A graduate of Wayne State University's law school, Mr. Grainer retired from city government in \972 and later was af- jiated with a private law irm. He was a member of the American, Michigan, Oakland County and De- troit Bar Associations; the Association- of De- fense Trial Counsels; American Judicature Society and Tau Epsilon Rho legal fraternity. Active in politics, Mr. Grainer was a precinct de- legate and served on the board of the 17th District Democratic organization. In 1968 he was elected as a Michigan Presidential Elector to the Federal Elec- toral College. He was a past president of 1 ii Arthur M. Lang Arthur M. Lang, an at- torney practicing in Detroit since 1930, died Feb. 15 at age 71. A native Detroiter, Mr. Lang was graduated from Wayne State University's law school in 1930. He was a member of Cong. Shaarey Zedek and a life member of the board of its men's club, past- commander of the Lamed Post of the Ameri- can Legion, past comman- der of Detroit Silverman Post of the Jewish War Vet- erans. He retired five years ago. The Jewish War Veterans awarded him its Bronze Order of Merit award in 1977 and in May, 1977 he was honored by the Lubavitcher Center "for his dedication to Jewish com- munal affairs in Michigan and to civic organizations." He resided at 15235 Miller Rd., Oak Park. Mr. Lang leaves his wife, Lena; a son, Paul B. of Pikesville, Md.; two sisters, Mrs. Samuel (Sarah) Som- berg and Mrs. Yetta Rigo; and two grandsons.
