Sobel, dean of the Fa- culty of Social Sciences at Haifa University, will speak at a dessert luncheon for $100 contributors to the -Allied Jewish Campaign- Israel Emergency Fund Women's Division at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Studio Theatre of the Jewish Community Center. Prof. Sobel, a native of New York city and a PhD graduate of the New School of Social Research, is a sociologist and researcher, with several grants and awards to his credit. He taught at Miami and Brandeis universities be- fore joining the faculty at Haifa in 1969. A member of the Israel Board of Higher Education, he has been pub- lished in numerous profes- sional and general journals.
