But the report is shar-
ply critical of many areas
of activity, particularly
the selection and super-
vision of shlikhim (emis-
saries) sent abroad and
the implementation of
budgetary economies. It
also leveled charges of
maladministration a-
gainst the Jewish Na-
tional Fund which were
promptly challenged.

The WZO Executive de-
(icled to release the report
w — although they have
lways been kept secret in
the past — because of leaks
to the press and in order to
set up a follow-through
body to ensure that recom-
mended improvements are
made.
The report said that "con-
siderations of savings and
technique did not always
guide" the WZO staff. Its
- strongest criticism was re-
served for the network of
396 shlikhim abroad. The
comptroller found that "a
considerable proportion" of
the emissaries operated
without efficient supervi-
sion by their departments.

It's true for the simplest of reasons:
were the only airline that flies to all parts of
the world from America.
84 cities in 58 countries on 6 continents.
Our flights, even to the most far-flung places, are
scheduled frequently enough so that every three minutes,
somewhere in the work', a Pan Am plane is either taking off
-or landing. And more often than not, that Pan Am plane, whether you're.
a passenger or you're shipping cargo, is a big, roomy 747.The plane,
we're told, that's the most preferred by international travelers.
next time you're traveling abroad, ask your travel agent or
your corporate travel manager to put vou on Pan Am. It'll make
things a lot easier.
AIME
Promise.
