The U.S. Foreign Claims
Settlement Commission
(FCSC) has informed the
Jewish Cemmunity Council
of Metropolitan Detroit that
a new law recently enacted
by Congress authorizes the
FCSC to receive-and deter-
mine certain claims of Un-
ited States citizens for prop-
erty losses in East Germany
and East Berlin due to
nationalization, expropria-
tion or other taking of prop-
erty.
To be eligible for this
program, a proper claim
form must be filed in
Washington, D.C. no later
than May 16, 1978.
For information on how to
acquire a claim form, call
the Jewish - Community
Council, 962-1880.
The FCSC will have a
representative appear at
any meeting where a group
wishes further explanation
of the claims program. The
commission presentation
takes about 15 minutes
with additional time for
questions. For information
call the Jewish Community
Council.
