recently in Hallandale, Fla., to a group of the Detroit
Friends of The Jewish Theological Seminary of:
America who discussed plans for the 19th annual
convocation dinner of the seminary which will take
place March 1 at the Diplomat Hotel in Hollywood,
Fla. Gordon will be presented the seminary's National
Community Service Award at the dinner. U.S. Senator
Howard Metzenbaum of Ohio and former Chief Jus-
tice Shimon Agranat of Israel also will be honored.

Brown chuck steak, onions,
and mushrooms in hot oil in a
Dutch oven. Add tomatoes,
wine, and bay leaf. Simmer co-
vered 2-3 hours, or until the
