Detroiter to Win
Leadership Prize
at JWB Confab

Sholem Aleichem Art Show
Begins Today at Shenandoah

Mrs. Harry Roth, chairman of the 15th annual
Sholem Aleichem Institute art show and sale, holds an
example of the works to be exhibited, a painting by
Susan Heideman. The art show and sale will take
place today through Sunday at the Shenandoah
Country Club. Works in all media by Michigan artists
will be displayed at the show. Hours are 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
and 8 p.m.-10 p.m. today, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday, and
11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday.

Main Jewish Center Scene
of Holocaust History Class

"The History of the
Holocaust," a course offered
through the University
Center for Adult Education
will begin 1 p.m. Tuesday at
the main Jewish Commun-
ity Center in West Bloom-
field.
Taught by Margaret Sil-
verman Eichner, the course
will focus on the history of
modern anti-Semitism, the
Nazis and the Jews (1933-
1939), the Eastern Euro-
pean Jewish reaction,
characteristics of ghetto
life, Jewish resistance, the
last stage in the world of the
dying, the American reac-
tion, Roosevelt and the
State Department, and the
Church then and Jewish
theology now.

bachelor's degree at
Wayne State University
and an MA degree from
the University of Michi-

taught the course previ-

briefings on reconnaissance
drones with visible light
and infrared sensing ,

ceive a Leadership Recogni-
tion Award at the 1978
Biennial Convention of the
National Jewish Welfare
Board, to be held April 5-9
at the Queen Elizabeth
Hotel in Montreal, Quebec.
Slatkin is a leader in the
Jewish Welfare Federation
, and Jewish Community
Center of Metropolitan De-
troit. He is past president of
the Federation Junior Divi-
. sion, a member of the Lead-
ership, Development Com-
mittee, and vice chairman
of the Real Estate Division
of the Allied Jewish Cam-
paign. He is a member of the
board of directors and
executive committee of the
Jewish Center and is on the
Joint Coordination Com-
mittee of the Federation
and Jewish Center.
He was chairman of the
Center's Membership Cam-
paign Committee and Out-
door Site Planning Com-
mitte and coordinated
community tours of the
Center's new facilities. He
is a member of the Young
Leadership Cabinet of the
United Jewish Appeal and a
board member of the
American Zionist Youth
Foundation.
