lieve, used to be downtown.
The prices are very reason-
able and the food is made
fresh daily. The portions of
food served are more than
adequate. I myself eat there
five nights a week. The de-
sserts are just great. The
Baklava has real nuts in it,
not like any restaurant in
Greek Town, where the nuts
are ground and the serving
small and the price high. I
certainly feel this restaur-
ant should be exposed to the
people in the suburbs:"

The campus will be
situated on a tract of 40
acres about a half-mile
south of Maalot. It will
provide dormitories and
other necessary facilities.
This is important since
most families in Maalot
are very large with up to
13 children and it is very
difficult, if not impossi-
ble, to study at home. The
students will live and
study in an academic en-
vironment without
breaking the ties with the
family and community.
This has been one of the
main reasons that young
people who leave Maalot to
study don't return. The stu-
dents of the Educational
Village will maintain close
contact with the home and
community and therefore
will be more likely to use
their education for the im-
provement and develop-
ment of•lVlaalot rather than
leave' for the urban centers.

project, write Deborah Ale-

TEL AVIV — A new
kibutz — Moran — was
founded in the mountains
near Tiberias recently.
Dozens of youngsters
have built up their new
home in the shadow of old
elm trees, which decorate
the marvelous panorama
around. The neighboring
settlements are Arab vil-
lages with more than 30,000
inhabitants. They are
situated between the Lower
and Upper Galilee along the
road from Acre to,Safed. It is
an area of vineyards.
The name Moran was
taken from an ancient
Jewish town located there.
Moshe Barkan of Petah
Tikva said that he and 40
other members formed
Moran in order to
strengthen the Jewish
settlements in Galilee.
"We know that in the be-
ginning there will be dif-
ficulties," Barkan told us.
"Our main concern is for our
children. Here they can act
we build the Jewish state."
