the savings from regular
coach fares would be as
great as 50 percent in some
cases.
The proposed roundtrip
weekday fares to either of
the Mexican cities from Chi-
cago would be $173; from
Detroit, $185; and from Dal-
las-Fort Worth, $117. The
regular roundtrip coach
fare to . Acapulco is $346
from Chicago, $368 from De-
troit and $234 from Dallas-
Fort Worth. (The Mexico
City Supersaver fare from
Chicago to Mexico Qty will
change to $198 weekend and
$163 weekdays, effective
Feb. 25.)
The Saturday-Sunday
roundtrip fares being pro-
posed by American are $208
from Chicago, $220-from De-
troit and $140 from Dallas-
Fort Worth.
The only requirements
American Airlines will pro-
pose are that tickets be pur-
chased seven days before
departure and that trips be
of no less than seven• days
duration and no more than
30. A portion of the coach
section of various flights
serving Mexico vr'll ' e set
aside to accommot those
who travel on the educed
rates.
The airline plans to offer
the reductions at least until
mid-1979.

Egypt Religion Dialogue to Start

of the Synagogue Council in
New York in what was con-
sidered an historic break-
through. In response, he in-
vited the Council to visit
Cairo.
Meetings in Cairo have
been arranged with the
Grand Imam Dr. Abdul Ha-
lim Mahmoud, Sheikh of Al
Azhar University, leading
Muslim university and oth-
er Muslim and Christian
leaders. The delegation also
will meet with leaders of
the Jewish community at
the synagogue in Cairo.
In addition to Rabbi Tepl-
itz and Rabbi Siegman, the
delegation will include Rab-
bi Walter Wurzburger, pres-
ident, Rabbinical Council of
America (Orthodox); Rabbi
Stanley Rabinowitz, presi-
-dent, Rabbinical Assembly
(Conservative); Rabbi Ely
E. Pilchik, president, Cen-
tral Conference of Ameri-
can Rabbis (Reform); and
Rabbi Arthur J. Lelyveld,
vice president, Synagogue
Council of America.

TEL AVIV (JTA)—Hans
Lebrecht, a veteran mem-
ber of Rakah (Communist
Party )- and a correspondent
for several Communist
newspapers in Europe, in-
cluding East Germany, was
arrested last week on the
charge of espionage.
His arrest came shortly
before he was due to leave
for Jerusalem to cover the
Israeli-Egyptian political
committee talks.
Meanwhile, it was learned
that Pascali Panitatis, a
correspondent for a Cypriot
Communist newspaper, was
arrested in his hotel room in
Tel Aviv on suspicion of
espionage.
