BB Men to Host
Bowling Tourney

Annette Mogi11, a member of The Needlethreaders,

The Needlethreaders, a
group of women who create
handcrafted stichery items,
will open an exhibit with a
reception 5:30 p.m. Sunday
`he Jewish Community
,,er in West Bloomfield.
The reception is open to the
public without charge. The
show will run through Jan.
31.
The women, headed by
Dorothy Harwood, create
fabric collage wall hangings
and banners. Mrs. Harwood
is the art coordinator for the
group and schedules shows
of their stichery talents at
schools, libraries and for
organizations.
The latest exhibit of the
needlecrafted works will
focus on Judaica. Many of
the pieces on display will be
for sale.

Besides Mrs. HarwoOd,
members of the group are
Mary Baroff, Gertrude Ed-

gar, Bea Epel, Rose Ferber,
Cyrille Friedman, Sheila
Kirsch, Annette Mogi11,
Ruth Pecherer, Lillian Polk,
Tillie Schkloven, Flora So-
bel and Sarah Zusman. The
works of two deceased
members, Frances Roman
and Rose Sugar, also will be
displayed.

Tickets Available
for Shrine Circus

Tickets are available for
the 70th annual Shrine Cir-
cus to take place Feb. 2-19
at the State Fair Coliseum.
Tickets are on sale at the
fairgrounds ticket office,
Hudson's, Sears, Montgom-
ery Ward stores and at
Bank of the Commonwealth.

The Metropolitan Detroit
Bnai Brith Bowling Associ-
ation will host 1,200 bowlers
from all over the U.S. and
Canada March 11 and 12 and
March 18 and 19 for the 37th
annual International Bnai
Brith Bowling Tournament.
Local bowlers will bowl on
the first weekend and out-of-
towners on the second.
The tournament sites will
be Drakeshire Lanes in
Farmington, Thunderbird
Lanes in Troy, Hartfield
Lanes in Berkley and Fair-
lanes Bowl in Madison
Heights. The Michigan Inn
will serve as headquarters
for the tournament.
Mark Klinger and Marvin
Dictor are co-chairmen.
Paul Kales and Alfred
Brook, past presidents of
the International Associ-
ation, are advisers. Fifty
local men will compete. En-
try deadline is Feb. 1.
