Attorney Jacob Gelfand Dies
Jacob Gelfand, an at-
torney and president and co-
owner of Tom's Northwood
Markets, died Jan. 1 at age
77.
Born in Russia, Mr. Gel-
fand lived 67 years in De-
troit. He was a member of
the 1928 graduating class of
the Wayne University Law

Stephen H. Marx, assist-
ant to the president of Al-
vin's, Inc., women's cloth-
ing stores, died. Dec. 30 at
age 40:

Scott and Corey; his

Maurice F. Roe, a retail
jeweler, died Jan. 2 at age
85.
Born in Chicago, Ill., Mr.
