TEL AVIV (JTA)—Chaim
Zadok, former Minister of
Justice in the Labor govern-
ment, has resigned his
Knesset seat because "I
find nothing to do there- as
a member of the opposition.
He said he would remain
a member of the Labor Par-
ty and would continue to
identify himself with party
policy.
Zadok, 60„ who served 19
years in the Knesset, five of
them as minister, is return-
ing to private law practice.
His resignation, based on
personal, not political con-
siderations, is regarded in
Labor Party circles as
another blow to the party
after its defeat in last May's
general election.
Imri Ron, 41, a Mapam
kibutznik from Mishmar
Ha'emek, will replace Za-
dok. A former senior officer
in the paratroopers, Ron
served as secretary of the
Kibutz Artzi movement in
recent years. He will be the
fifth Mapam member in the
Labor Alignment Knesset
faction.
