against a background of
real peace."
Ben-Ari told Riesel that
plans were now being made
to bring Israeli scientific
and technological assistance
to Egypt once a peice was
concluded. Ben-Ari said,
"We could go beyond a
Common Market concept.
We could cultivate Lands in
a major way and bring food

Ben-Ari stressed that
tourism between Israel and
Egypt would be a major
factor of a peace settle-
ment. "Many Israelis want
to go to Egypt and many
Egyptians would like to visit
Israel. It could happen."
He also told Riesel that
even as the peace terms
were being drawn and im-
plemented there could be
the beginning of com-
mercial import and export
between the two countries.

Iranian Sees
Ties to Israel

TEL AVIV (JTA)—Darius
Homayon, the minister of
information of Iran, has hin-
ted that relations between
his country and Israel would
grow closer if present
Middle East developments
lead to a peace settlement.
Homayon was quoted in
Yediot Achronot as saying
that "the developments- in
the Middle East will have,
no doubt; positive implica-
tions on the Israeli-Iranian
relations. I- believe that
these relations will be dif-
ferent from what they are
today."
While Israel and Iran
have trade ties there have
never been formal diplo-
matic relations between the
two countries..
Homayon was interviewed
by Yediot correspondent
Ilan Kfir, who was in Teh-
ran over the weekend to
cover the meetings between
Ptesident Carter, the. Shah
and King Hussein of Jordan.
