LISTENING POST SID HUDSON, Las Vegas Man of the Year for City of Hope, is in his home town of Detroit frequently now mak- ing local preparations for his testimonial dinner, March 12, at the Las Vegas Hilton. Some 2,000 people are ex- pected for Sid's affair... folks from the country over...including dignitaries and celebrities...Nat Brand- wyne's 20-piece orchestra will back the super star- studded show honoring Sid... Master-of-ceremonies may be either Paul Anka or Danny Thomas, and almost everybody appearing on the Strip is expected to make an appearance. Sid has been a Las Vegas- ite over 32 years after ,his Detroit days as Sid Hu- 'Josh...all that time living at one place, the Flamingo Ho- tel. Some 22 years ago. Sid moved to another room, but will soon have to move again...He'll be given a resi- dence in the new wing after the first of the year. But Sid has no beef corn- ing...Who else can boast of living in the same place 32 years without his rent ever being raised?
