cipal of Western High
School in Detroit, where he
was principal for 11 years
prior to his retirement in
1974. He began his career as
a science teacher at De-
troit's Central High School;
then moved into adminis-
tration as department head
at several high schools be-
fore completing his career
with the Detroit Public
Schools.
A psychiatrist and clinical
professor at WSU, Dr. Ras-
kin is internationally recog-
nized for his work on sub-
stance abuse. He is director
of the federally sponsored
Narcotics Clinic in Detroit
and chairman of the May-
or's Committee for Rehabi-
litation of Narcotics Ad-
dicts.
