VERY VIVID imagination
brings The Case History of
L.J. Loophole - . . .new limit-
ed menu eatery at Sheraton-
Southfield Hotel on Nine
Mile.
"Near the close of the
19th Century a child was
born in the mining town of
Leadville, Colo. Unlike most
male children in the town
L.J. Loophole did not follow
his father's footsteps and
labor in the mines.
"L.J. - became the most
enterprising of scoundrels
and amassed a vast fortune
skirting the thin edges of-
the law throughout the
West. Loophole knew the
ins-and outs of every statute

and, thus, was able to buy
judges, swindle orphans,
and dispose of valueless
mining stock on unsuspect-
ing widows.
"The initials "L.J."
caused much consteration
to all. Many argued that the
intitals stood for-Lascivious
Jurytamperer. Others said
that our hero's initials were
for Leander Jerrymander,
however, the simple truth of
the matter is that his par-
ents were too poor to afford
a full name.
"At the age of 29 Cupid
played upon the strings of
Loophole's head and his
love for Vanessa Pinkerton
loosened his faculties. The
greedy Pinkerton family
sold their daughter into
wedlock much to - L.J."s -
pleasure. Shortly after their
wedding day Vanessa slid
up the drainpipe from their
two story basement apart-
ment into the arms of an
Irish tinker and headed
East. This adulterous
couple were rumored to be
living near the mouth of the
mighty Mississippi where
they bred a family of 12
boys, one girl, and several
litters of mongrel canines.
"Crestfallen and heart-
broken, Loophole spent his
grief amassing more money
which he poured into his pet
project, a gourment restau-
rant in beautiful downtown
Teaneck, N.J. Today, this
restaurant is re-created
here, named after its found-
er and guiding spirit.
"We regret to report that
Loophole's existence con-
cluded in 1929 at the end of
a rope.
"Two weeks prior to his
untimely death, Loophole
married the 19-year-old
daughter of his chef. Loo-
phole's widow then squan-
dered her inheritance on a
collection of antique Klee-
nex holders and a samba
dancer from Ypsilanti. -
Menus for lunch and din-
ner are in the form of a
summons. . . cleverly put
together by General Man-
ager Dan Murphy and his
Chicago ad firm.
"SUMMONS. THE

LIGHTFUL REPAST IN
