Klafers Mark 50th Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. William
(Jean) Klafer were honored
by their children and their
families on the occasion of
their 50th wedding anniver-
sary at a Nov. 27 brunch in
the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Gerald (Eileen) Granadier
of Birmingham.
Mr. Klafer was affiliated
with the Independent Linen
Service for more than 40
years prior to his retire-

an honorary board member,
life member and has served
the organization in various
capacities.
Mrs. Klafer is a long-time
member of Hadassah and a

Women's American ORT, in
which she has held many
offices.
The couple holds member-
ship in Cong. Bnai David,
whose congregation honored
them with a stained-glass
window. The Klafers will
plant a garden of 100 trees
in Israel in honor of their
anniversary.
The couple, who have five
grandchildren, are the par-
ents of Mrs. Marilyn Gor-
don, Mrs. Granadier and
Ronald Klafer of Stockton,
Calif.
