Israeli Beers Win Awards

TEL AVIV — Israeli
beers were honored recently
with two gold medals in the
Monde Selection, 16th
annual world judging of out-
standing beers and non-alco-
holic beverages, conducted
recently in Brussels and
Luxembourg.

Israel's premium beer,
Maccabee, won the gold
medal in the Pilsen type
low-fermentation category.
In the "Munich-type"
darker lager category,
Israel's popular Gold Star
beer was one of only three
medal winners.
