VINCENZO'S
THANKS FROM little
seven-year-old Jenny...to all
the wonderful folks who
read last week's column
item about helping her...In
the first day, Jenny
received that television set
she wanted so much...new
shoes, clothing and money
to buy necessities for win-
ter...Who said people don't
care anymore?
INTERPRETATION QF
the no sign law in Oak Park
means that nothing with
words...not even "Happy
Hanuka"...can be put in a
resident's window...only
religious symbols may be
used for the holi-
days.Lutterly ridiculous.
GET WELL WISHES...to
Charles "Chuck"
Sklare...home from Provi-
dence Hospital after a mild
heart attack.
REUNION THAT
SHOULD really be a lot of
fun...the fellows have
always been among the
greatest kind of guys...will
be that of past Rex clubs
through the years...AZA,
BBYO and Bnai Brith
lodge... Date is Dec. 19,
6:30...stag at Southfield Ath-
letic Club... dinner and
health facilities...plus a lot
of wonderful relived
memories.
TO RUTH CORNER...12
year old daughter of Char-
-
-
lotte and Phil Corner...hope
you're doing well at
National Institute of Health,
Washington, D.C.
ANNIVERSARY CON-
GRATS...to Jan and Lary
Goldman on number
two,.Also birthday wishes
to Lary on the same day.
ANDREA ADLER,
daughter of recent ex-
Detroiters, Fran and Sol
Adler, moved from South-
field to sunny climate of Los
Angeles seven years
ago...She returned to the
chilly winds, but an excited
lassie, though...as the lead
understudy for Anita Gil-
lette in Neil Simons' new
play, "Chapter Two"...Its
entire cast left L.A. for New
York's Broadway.
BIRTHDAY CON-
GRATS...to Florence "Fay"
Lan (Ted's wife).
Steve
Hurite wasn't made council
president in Southfield is
because it is one of the few
places around where getting
the most votes doesn't bring
presidency...Too bad per-
sonal likes and dislikes were
placed ahead of the people's
choice...New president, Phil
Peterson, may be quite
capable but it is noted that
those who served with him
before did the council
majority voting.
All in all, though, a cohe-
sion among council mem-
bers is most vital for any
community...and those on
the Southfield seats are all
REASON WHY
their noses down to but one
thing...the business for
which they were
elected...Southfield's better-
ment.
IF YOU'RE AROUND
Edgewater Convalescent
Home on W. Seven Mile Rd.
east of Telegraph, drop in
and pay Joe Rossen a visit.
24th ANNIVERSARY con-
grats...to Keggie and Joe
Glazer.
SARA BROOKS had never ,
won anything in her
life...When WXYZ disc
jockey Joe Sasso called her
name in a station contest,
she was elated...Even hubby
Leo was given a portion of
the prize...tuxedo and
accessories...After being
told of her receiving a
ladies bridal formal wear,
Sara, who had to call Joe
back within 12 minutes,
replied over the air waves
how excited she was...and
that they were soon expect-
ing their third child.
