Detroiter Pearl Nosan Meets Top Israeli Plastic Surgeon

Jerusalem, met Dr. Nahum
Ben-Hur, head of the
department of plastic and
maxillofacial surgery at the
Shaare Zedek Hospital, dur-
ing her recent visit to
Israel.

burns, and also is the only
Israeli member of the
American Association of
Military Plastic Surgeons.
He lectured recently at the
Walter Reed Army Hospital
in Washington D.C. on
"Combat Burns in the 1973
Military Conflict."
The staff of Shaare
Zedek's plastic and max-
illofacial surgery depart-
ment reattached three fin-
gers to a 16-year-old boy's
band that had been almost
completely severed in an
industrial accident. The
youth had been rushed to
Shaare Zedek where Dr.
Ben-Hur and his staff
decided to use "micro-
surgical reimplantation," a
new technique developed in
Australia.
Ben-Hur had sent a mem-
ber of his staff to Australia

German Who Hid
Anne Frank Gets
$10,000 AWard

Victor Kugler, the man
who hid Anne Frank and her
family from the Nazis dur-
ing World War- II, has been
awarded the Nicholas and
Hedy Munk Brotherhood
Award, it was announced by
Detroit's Jewish Commu-
nity Council.
The award, presented
Monday at the annual din-
ner of the Canadian Council
of Christians and Jews,
