LISTENING
POST

DO YOU HAVE a used
television set lying around
somewhere?.. Little Jen-
nie, seven-year-old
"adopted granddaughter" of
Lillian Rebecca Willis, has
no kiddie program to come
home to after school like
ther children.
She hasn't even a winter
outfit or boots, which are so
very desperately needed for
the snow. . . and Lillian's
finances only enable her to
get books, small toys and
the sugarless gum Jennie is
allowed to chew.
Won't someone please
help little Jennie?... . . This
is really a case of desper-
ation, folks. . . Like the tele-
vision set, clothing for her
doesn't even have to be
new.
Call Lillian Willis at 968-
3134. . . a wonderful-hearted
woman needs your help
very much to aid a cute,
little seven-year-old girl
whose smiles overcome the
pangs of bitterness it is
hoped she never learns
about.
ERRATA. . . Correct 43rd
anniversary is for Ann and
Al Bunin.

ANNUAL DOINGS at
West Bloomfield home of
Debbie and Dennis Silber on
Halloween Nite is always a
great sight to see. . . They
hold the record (Guinness
doesn't have it yet) for
more kids showing up on the
goblin's eve than any other
resident. . . Over 2,000
youngsters come to get all
kinds of toys and goodies in
the carnival atmosphere. . .
Each year, the annual
grownups' list of those who
come with the kids grows
bigger too... Any why not?..
. They also want to get in on
the fun. . . Don't be sur-
prised if Debbie and Dennis
start having give-away stuff
for the paarnednt.

MAIL DEPT. . . "What's
happened to TLC? When a
patient enters a hospital for
diagnostic study or emer-
gency circumstances, both
of which require a great
deal of TLC (tender loving
care), whatever the reason
for admittance, the fearful
anticipation and anxiety, for
most patients, can be
extremely overwhelming.
There seems to be lacking
the 'very thing that is so
essential toward a more
rapid recovery, and that is
some understanding mixed
with a little warmth. I am
not discounting the fact that
many doctors, as well as
their hospital staff, are very
busy, but have they become
so plastic they can no longer
react to human suffering? If
such is the case, the hospi-
tal situation itself can be a
bigger detriment in pro-
longing their patient's con-
dition only because the emo-
tions are so closely tied in
with the physical illness
that exists that a little TLC
goes much further in many
instances than some of the
medication they administer.
"When a patient needs
some assistance, being in
the hospital and sick is bad
enough but being rejected is
much worse. What has hap-
pened to the rapport
between hospital staff and
patient? Or more important
the dedication that once
went along with the lost art
of administering that very
much needed TLC (Tender
loving care ? )"... Estelle

DISA 'N DATA. . . Cor-

liard Bash finals for
crippled children to former
Detroit Lion football great,

Between Dick's fine play-
ing and his late wife Dinah
Washington's singing, they
made an unbeatable team of
their own. Kopy Katz is
