BETH SHALOM'S youth
department announces a
new group has been formed
as a part of the junior con-
gregation: the P.A.s, named
for the "perfect attenders"
at services for the month.
Reva Nelson was named a
member of the first and sec-
ond grade group, conducted
by Janice Dror. Third and
fourth graders joining the
group are Michelle Auster,
Dori Singer, Debra Nelson,
Alexander Greenbaum,
Wendi Littky and Harry
Nelson. Alicia Nelson,
assisted by Marcy Pianin,
conducts the weekly third
and fourth grade services.
Fifth and sixth graders
named "perfect attenders"
are: Cindy Bakst, Felice
Katzman, Sheryl Katzman,
Larry Levine, Arona Pearls-
tein and Kim Yellen. Marla
Magy conducts the fifth and
sixth grade services,
assisted by Alan Pearlstein.
Special recognition and
rewards will be awarded to
members of the new group.

recent election meeting.

Junior congregation, for
youth age 8-13, will have a
luncheon and kick-off activ-
ity Saturday following serv-
ices in the synagogue.
Junior Kadima, grades 5
and 6, will meet 2 p.m. Sun-
day in the synagogue. The
group will elect officers and
make Hanuka decorations
and gifts. For information
about Junior Kadima activi-

BNAI DAVID youth
groups will attend the forth-
coming Jewish Book Fair to
be held Saturday- Nov. 20 at
the Jewish Community Cen-
ter. Ruach (grades 3-4) will
meet 1:15 p.m. Sunday in
the synagogue youth lounge
to see a children's play at
the Book Fair, entitled
"Like It or Not, I Am Who I
Am," Participants may
bring a bag lunch. Refresh-
ments will be provided. For
ticket reservations, contact
adviser Deni Warsaw, 352-

Ha-or (grades 5-6) will
visit the Jewish Book Fair,
Tuesday, meeting 6:30 p.m.
in the synagogue youth
lounge. Dinner and games
in the teen-tween lounge at
the Jewish Community Cen-
ter will take place. There is

Masada (grades 7:8) will
go to the Book Fair Mon-
day, meeting 6:30 p.m. at
the synagogue. Activites-
include a dinner and games
in the teen-tween lounge.

officers at an ice cream
social 7:30 p.m. Sunday in
the youth lounge. Candi-
dates should meet at 7 p.m.
to sign in and hang posters.

Atid (senior group for 9th-
12th grade youth) is forming
a team to play in the Inter-
congregational Basketball
League, with games to be
played at the Jewish Com-
munity Center. Persons
interested in joining may

dent Steve Dines, 557-1977. A
meeting will be held at 6:45
p.m. Sunday at the syna-
gogue, followed by a prac-
tice session at the Jewish
Community Center gym.
Reservations are being
taken for Shabat junior con-
gregation members who
wish to attend the Detroit
Lions football game Nov. 20.
Members will gather at
11:30 a.m. at the synagogue,
and proceed by bus to Pon-
tiac Stadium. A bag lunch
may be brought. For

Junior congregation group
for children age 8-10 elected
Robbie Chatlin president for
the coming year. Other offi-

ior congregation groups (for
youth age 8-14) and Story
Hour (age 4-7) meet 10 a.m.
Saturdays for youth serv-
ices with games and a
kidush.

New Ruach youth group

president; Harold Nodler,
vice president; Ilana Stru-
bel, secretary; and Jeff
Kaufman, treasurer. Per-
sons chosen to be com-
mittee chairmen were:
Howard Cohen, Robbie

man, Suzanne Parr and
Marla Weiss.
Children writing articles
for the Bnai David Post
children's magazine, pub-
lished by the synagogue's
