retired U.S. Marine Corps
major, died Oct. 27 at age
58.
Born in Detroit, Mr.
Broudy was residing in
Laguna Nigual, Calif., at
the time of his death. He
was graduated from Cass
Technical High School and
served during and after
World War II with the
Marines. He was a member
of the Jewish War Veterans.
He is survived by his wife,
Alice (Pat) ; a son, David of
California; three daughters,
Carolyn Schear, Stephani
Evans and Rebecca, all of
California; two brothers,
Clarence and Ernest, both
of California; three sisters,
Dorothy Glazer, Bertha Sil-
ver and Sara Bloom, all of

Sol Selman, `87

Sol Selman, an artist
whose works have appeared
throughout Detroit and
Israel, died Nov. 6 at age 87.
Born in Russia, Mr. Sel-
man lived 65 years in
Detroit. He was a past pres-
ident of the Jewish Commu-
nity Council, a member of
the Farband, active in
efforts for Israel Bonds,
chairman in charge of the
landsmanshaften, past pres-
ident of the Minkowitze
Podolie, life member of the
former Beth Aaron Syna-
gogue (now Cong. Beth
Achim) and a member of
the Scarab Club. He
received the Gold Award
from the Michigan Display
Guild several years ago. He
was a window trimmer. He
resided at 19100 W. Seven
Mile, Detroit.
Mr. Selman is survived by
a son, Frank N. ; a daugh-
ter, Mrs. Seymour (Mild-
red) Rabinowitz; a sister,
Mrs. Bertha Bricker; 10
grandchildren and six great-
grandchildren.

Marcia Wexler, 43

Marcia Wexler, a mem-
ber of Jewish communal
organizations and recog-
nized as a gourmet cook and
baker, died Nov. 8 at age 43.
A native Detroiter, Mrs.
Weder was a member and
past president of the Subur-
ban Hills Chapter of
Women's American ORT,
Hadassah and Adat Shalom
'Synagogue.
She leaves her husband,
Morry; a son, Eric; two
daughters. Arna and Deb-
bie; her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Allen (Frieda)
Walker; and a sister, Mrs.
Daniel (Diane) Hechtman.
