Linden and Lillian Maltzer, represent- ing Temple Israel and Temple Emanu-El, respec- tively, will attend the 54th biennial general assembly of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations Nov. 18-22 in San Francisco. Linden, a vice chairman of the UAHC board of trustees and chairman of the UAHC committee on Aging, will participate in a group of "Putting It All Together—Winter/Retire- ment.'' Mrs. Maltzer, will lead a discussion on "Our Reli- gious Obligations—Religious Practice." She is a national member of the UAHC board of trustees, vice president of the National Federation of Temple Sisterhoods and chairman of the commission o n synagogue administration. Rabbi Soloveichik Slated for Address The Detroit Friends of Yeshivas Brisk will sponsor an evening with Rabbi Aron Soloveichik, who will give an address 8 p.m. Tuesday at Young Israel of Green- field, in Oak Park. Rabbi Soloveichik, a ' renowned Torah scholar and scion of a family of scholars is on the staff of Yeshiva University and is the cur- rent president and rosh yeshiva of the Brisk Rabbi- nical College in Chicago, which is attended by a num- ber of students from Detroit. The public is invited to hear the address. Morris Flatt and Sidney Lesser are co-chairmen of the event. — - Topical Jewish Issues Focus of Bnai David Lecture Series The Cong. Bnai David Adult Education Institute will begin its fall semester lecture series 8:15 p.m. Tuesday in the synagogue. Rabbi Morton F. Detroiter Named for College Honor Nina Novetsky of Avon In., Southfield, has been named to the dean's list of Yeshiva University's Stern College for Women for out- standing academic achieve- ment during the 1976-77 year, it was announced by Dean Karen Bacon. A total of 85 out of 500 stu- dents were accorded the honor for maintaining at least a 3.4 (B plus) average throughout the year at the university's undergraduate school of liberal arts and sciences for women.
