to Israel Slated
NEW YORK—Registra-
tion for a job-hunting group
trip to Israel is now under
way at Israel Aliya Center
in North America. Accord-
ing to Isaac Friedman,
director of employment
services, the group is sched-
uled to depart Dec. 19 on the
two week fact-finding tour.
Designed specifically for
tential olim, the partially
.asidized pilot trips are
arranged in conjunction
with corresponding offices
in Israel for a two-week
period during which time
those seeking employment
may meet with potential
employers and become
acquainted with various
aspects of Israeli life.
These trips are particu-
larly recommended for
- those persons who are plan-
ning to move to Israel
within six to nine months,
but who have not yet
secured a position there.
Resumes are circulated to
potential employers in
Israel and interviews are
scheduled well before the
trip is made.
While in Israel, those reg-
istered for the pilot trip will
be the guests of Tour
Ve'Aleh office in Israel
which will cover hotel costs
(bed and breakfast). Those
opting to stay for a third
week will do so at their own
expense.

Technion Hosts
HAIFA - Representatives
of 10 developing countries
took part recently in a
workshop on stone tech-
nology at the Technion -
Israel Institute of Tech-
nology. The conference was
the first activity of the
United Nations Industrial
Development Organization
(UNIDO) ever held in
Israel. It was also the first
worldwide conference on
stone technology to be held
by the organization.
Countries involved in the
program from Oct. 10-26,
included Botswana, Ghana,
Kenya, the Dominican
Republic, Haiti, Nepal,
Iran, Turkey, Portugal, and
India. The representatives
were officials involved in
-levelopment and industrial-
ation efforts in their
'1"Fountries.
Meanwhile, a Mexican
delegation, guests of the
Technion, arrived in Israel
recently to participate in a
wide-ranging series of tech-
nological discussions and
study groups at the
institute.
The group comprises sen-
ior government officials,
engineers representing both
public and private sectors of
industry, and scientists.
Heading the delegation is
Dr. Alfonso de Garay,
adviser to the Mexican pres-
ident and head of the
Department of Radio Biol-
ogy and Genetics of the
Mexican National Institute
of Nuclear Energy.
