JERUSALEM (JTA)—

receives an official pardon
request from the Pope, For-
eign Minister Moshe.Dayan
told the Cabinet at its
weekly session Sunday.
• The announcement means

Czechs Strike
Jewish Sites

LONDON — Ancient syna-
gogues, town halls and Jew-
ish cemeteries in Czechoslo-
vakia are no longer
considered "monuments of
national-cultural impor-
tance" and have been elimi-
nated from a list agreed
upon by decision of the
Czechoslovak government,
according to the London-
based International Council
of Jews from
Czechoslovakia.
Memorials of the Jewish
community appear to be the
only monuments of a reli-
gious group to have been
eliminated. The decision,.
taken at the highest govern-
ment level, would not seem
in any way to affect histori-
cal buildings of Christian
groups.

that the government has
already decided in principle
to release the clergyman
who was sentenced in
December, 1974 to 12 years
imprisonment for security
violations. Negotiations on
the release of Capucci have
been going on since the
Likud government took
office. A meeting was held
between the Pope in Rome

and an Israeli represent
tive on the subject.
