OBITUARIES

Harry Davidoff, Active Zionist



Tributes to the memory of
Harry A. Davidoff were
paid this week by the Zion- .
ist Organization of Detroit
and the Jewish War Veter-
ans, in recognition of his
many years of service in
behalf of Israel and to many
Jewish causes. Mr. Davidoff
died Oct. 24 at age 81.
For many years Mr. Davi-
doff was an outstanding
leader in the Zionist Organi-
zation and was among the
honored volunteers for Bal-
- Concerts for more than

ars.
Born in Romania, Mr.
Davidoff was a retired mil-
linery buyer for Federal
Department Stores, a post
he held for 30 years. He
retired in 1967.
He was a 45-year member
of Cong. Shaarey Zedek, a
life member of Mosaic
Lodge of the Masons, cur-
rent commander of the
Lawrence and Joseph Jones
Post Jewish War Veterans,
a member of the American
Legion, a board member of
the Zionist Organization of
Detroit and a member of

Milton- Goldberg

Milton Goldberg, a -phar-
macist and former owner of
Milton's Drugs in Detroit,
died Oct. 24 at age 69.
Born in Yale, Mich., Mr.
Goldberg owned his store
for 36 years, selling it in
1970. He was a member of
Mat Shalom Synagogue and
the Aesculapian Pharma-
ceutical Society.
He leaves his wife,
Selma; a son, Howard;
three sisters, Mrs. Hy
(Eileen) Alpert, Mrs. Bessie
Koenigsberg and Mrs.
Mayme Triebwasser, both
of Baltimore, Md. ; and
three granddaughters.

Early Religious
Leader's Kin Dies

Fred Bradfield whose sur-
viving wife is a descendant
of the man who conducted
the first services at Temple
Beth El, Marcus Cohen,
died recently.
Mr. Bradfield, who died
Oct. 22 at age 72 in Las
Vegas, Nev., leaves his
wife, Jeanette; and a son,
Louis of Las Vegas. Inter-
ment Detroit.

Anna Korman, 77

Anna Korman, a regis-
tered nurse and the first
married woman to be
accepted at Harper Hospital
on scholarship, died Oct. 24
in Miami, Fla., at age 77.
Born in Russia, Mrs. Kor-
man lived most of her life in
the Detroit area. She lived
in Florida for the past 16
years. She was a private
duty nurse at Grace, Harper
and Sinai hospitals in
Detroit and Mt. Sinai Hospi-
tal in Miami Beach. She
was graduated with BS-and
MS degrees in nursing from
Wayne State University.
She leaves a son, Dr. Nor-
man of North Miami; and
two grandchildren. Services
10 a.m. today at Ira Kauf-
man Chapel. Interment
Detroit.

Dr. J.A. Lovinger
and Mother Die

Dr. Joseph A. Lovinger, a
former Detroiter of Hunts-
ville, Ala., and his mother,
Mrs. Edward (Tobie) Lovi-
nger died this past week.
Dr. Lovinger died Oct. 18 at
age 48. Mrs. Lovinger died
.Oct. 23 at age 72.
Dr. Lovinger was a pro-
fessor of chemistry at Ala-
bama A. and M. University.
He was graduated from
Ohio State University.
Dr. Lovinger leaves his
wife, Janet; a son, Jeffrey;
two daughters, Karen and
Diane; his father, Edward
of Detroit; a brother, Ger-
ald of Ellicott City, Md.;
and a sister, Mrs. Donald
(Genevieve) Davis of Hous-
ton, Texas. Interment
Huntsville.
Besides her husband, son
and daughter, Mrs. Lovi-
nger leaves three brothers,
Harris Rosedale of Cincin-
nati, Phillip Rosedale of
Tucson, Ariz., and Shia
Rosedale of Naranja, Fla.;
