For your young man about town...

The Criterion Club for Jewish singles will be planting a
garden of 100 trees in Israel, through Jewish National Fund,
in memory of Betty Weinberg, former president of the club,
who had served the .club for more than a decade and held
every office. The garden will be planted in the American
Bicentennial National Park near Jerusalem. Presenting the
JNF Certificate attesting to the establishment of the gar- .
den, is Ceil Smith, right, current president of the Criterion
Club, and, left, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth (Gloria) Davidson,
newphew and niece of Mrs. Weinberg. The club has been in
existence for more than 16 years and has more than 50
members. It is devoted to cultural, social and philanthropic
causes.

The Chief Rabbi of Great
Britain and Northern Ire-
land, Immanuel Jacobovits,
attended the inauguration in
Bucharest of the Iosua Tova
Synagogue which has been
rebuilt since the earthquake
last March.
It is the first visit to
Romania by a British Jew-
ish leader since Sir Moses
Montefiore's visit 110 years
ago, the Romanian Chief
Rabbinate's spokesman
said Jacobovits visited
Romania at the invitation of
Chief Rabbi Moses Rosen.
