Pierre
Turgeon and
Jimmy Launce call them-
selves "The Dinner Theater
Professionals"...0thers are
saying there is no better
way to enjoy an eve-
ning...Before, people used to
tell folks not to expect too
much and they might enjoy
themselves...Today, in
many more cases than not,
an enjoyable dinner-theater
evening is almost to the
point of expectation.
"Marriage Go-Round"
with Paul Winter has been
extended to run through
Dec. 17 at Somerset Mall.
DIANE STEINBERG,
local lass so much liked by
everyone, has a starring
role with Peter Frampton
and the Bee Gees in the
film, "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely
Hearts Club Band"...Diane
plays Lucy.
TYPO ERRATA...Sossi is
correct last name spelling
of original owners of Roma
Cafe, Morris, Paul and Otto.
YES, THERE is a pan-
cake house in the area that
uses frozen potatoes to
make its potato pancakes.
FOUR YOUNG musicians
known as Silk weave their
musical doings on audiences
at Top of the Pontch from
Tuesday through Dec. 3,
7:30 to 1 a.m. ...Hotel
Pontchartrain.
DID YOU KNOW there is
a "Buy A Donut
Day?"...It's this month, on
Sunday.
WE CLOSED

others, and couldn't believe

like the late Al Jolson with-
out impersonation...It goes
without saying that those
who remembered Jolson
were amazed...some even
wet-eyed...as England's
Clive Baldwin entertained
at the recent Detroit Busi-
nessmen's Group, City of
Hope affair...Too bad the
microphone and accoustics
at Michigan Inn are so bad.
TIP TO waitresses and
waiters ... If you notice any-
thing wrong at any table or
if you notice a guest trying
to attract the attention of
his or her waitress or
waiter, ask what it is ... If it
is something simple such as
more cream, etc., do it
yourself... If it is more
involved, find the cus-
tomer's waitress or waiter
and explain the situa-
tion...Remember, there is
no such thing as her's or his
dustomer...they are the res-
taurant's patrons and all
should share in providing
pleasurable
din-
ing...Satisfied
customers
are a restaurant's most
important asset... Customer
satisfaction is a must.
HOW'S THIS for a politico
turnabout?...According to
Food For Thought by Con-
sumers For Pure Food, "A
Michigan law, that was to
have gone into effect, would
have allowed the , State
Dept. of Education to con-
trol junk food by setting
nutritional standards for
schools...However, after
passing the law in 1976, the
legislature went back last_
spring and diluted it and
delayed its implementation
a year. Now the law only
states that parents and
pupils must be allowed to
make suggestions on school
food programs."
SHIRLEY AND AL FOON
tell of spending an enjoy-
able weekend with Mildred
and Al Skelly in Redkey,
Ind., 15 miles from Mun-
cie....Before going, they had
heard about a restaurant
where it was almost impos-
sible to get a reserva-
tion...A1 got one and off they
went to Shamburger's,
where "we were entertained
and ate gourmet food pre-
pared in front of us from 7
p.m. until midnight," says
Al.
Owner John Shamburger
is the chef and chief
entertainer with his many
disguises at Shambur-
ger's...If you are anywhere
near this town of less than
2,000 people, the restaurant
sounds interesting enough to
try and get in...and visit the
"Mad Chef of Redkey."
The restaurant, open only
1 or 2 nights during the
week, requires reservations
which must be made weeks
in advance.

Yadlin Appeal

JERUSALEM (JTA )—
The Supreme Court last
week rejected Asher Y-ad-
lin's appeal against the
severity of his five-year jail
sentence for accepting
bribes. The court confirmed
the sentence imposed on the
former chairman of Kupat
Holim (sick fund), and also
confirmed the IL 250,000
fine levied by the Tel Aviv
District Court.
