It is the former Valley
Woods Elementary School
at Fourteen Mile and Lah-

chased by the Allans from
the Birmingham School
District.

known as the Sally Allan
Alexander School for Girls,
in memory of the Allans'
daughter who died in 1974 at
the age of 37.
Sally Allan Alexander was
an outstanding music
teacher, who taught piano
privately and developed a
large and devoted following.
She was active in the
Detroit Musicians League,
the Michigan Music Teach-
ers Association, and the
National guild of Piano
Teachers. A collector of
rare baroque instruments,
she lectured and performed
throughout the community.

seven-acre site.
