Pound Devalued

JERUSALEM (JTA)—
The Israeli pound was deva-
lued again and now stands,
at IL 10.41-$1. The devalua-
tion was the sixth since the
Likud government took
office four months ago.

Mrs. Albert Rosenblum,
chairman of the 40th anni-
versary dinner of the Jew-
ish Community Council of
Metropolitan Detroit,
announces Philip Solomov-
itz, editor and publisher of
The Jewish News, will rep-
resent the founders of the
Council at the dinner 7 p.m.
Oct. 30 at Cong. Shaarey
Zedek.
Besides Slomovitz, surviv-
ing members of the Council
are Irving Adler, Charles
Driker, Issac Finkelstein,
Benjamin Laikin, Mrs. Mau-
rice Landau and Mrs. Sara
Levin. They will receive
plaques commemorating
the occasion.
. Dr. Shmarya Kleinman,
the fourth and earliest past
president who survives, will
speak on behalf of all the
past presidents. Plaques
will be awarded the past
presidents.

Student
Organization will hear Dan
Kyram, Israel consul for
cultural affairs, 8:30 p.m.
Oct. 30 at the Somerset
Apts. Kirts Rd. club house.
Kyram will speak on the
"Israeli-Arab Conflict." A
native of Jerusalem, Kyram
served in the Israeli army.
He later joined the ministry
fir foreign affairs and
served at the Israel
embassies in Washington,
Vienna and Lusaka, Zam-
bia, and at the legations of
Israel in Havana and Gen-
eva. He also served in vari-
ous capacities at the min-
istry in Jerusalem.
He is the former consul
for consular affairs for the
Midwest.
Refreshments will be
served, and admission is
