and was selected spokes-
man for the entire organiza-
tion, a post. he held until two
years ago.

Beyond his regular duties,
Mr. Yaron found time for
scholarly work and over the
years became an acknowl-
edged authority on the often
esoteric works of Rabbi
Avraham ,Hacohen Kook,
first chief rabbi of
Palestine. -

Mr. YarOn, a political
dove, found in Kook's writ-
ings none of the bases for
Gush Emunim-type right-
wing nationalism that
others claim to:see in it,
and, as founder of the "Oz
Veshalom" circle of reli-
gious doves, Mr. Yaron led
an- Orthodox- comiter-attack
in recent years against the-
Gush. Since resigning as
Jewish Agency-WZO spokes-
man, Mr. Yaron had edited
the WZO's prestigious cul-
tural quarterly, "Forum."

Meyer Steinberg

Meyer 'Steinberg, a
retired real estate and
investment broker, died
Oct. 3 at age 82.
Born in Detroit, Mr. Stein-
berg was a • member of
Temple Beth El, Standard
City Club and Downtown
Synagogue.
He leaves his wife. Eve;
and nieces and nephews.

Hebrew Weekly's
Editor Dies at 82

NEW YORK-Moshe
Indelman-Yinnon, former
editor of The Hadoar, the
Hebrew weekly published in
New York, died Sept. 24 at
age 82.
Mr. Indelman-Yinnon was
editor -of The Hadoar from
1959 to 1970. He was a well-
known writer and scholar.
and worked as an editor,
translator and writer for
various Hebrew pub-
lications in the U.S., Europe
and in Israel.
He also was editor for a
leading Hebrew publishing
company in Jerusalem.
