Rector Visits Detroit Miss Jacobson Weds Mr. Sax The rector of Hebrew Uni- versity in Jerusalem. Dr. Gidon Czapski. was in Detroit to speak with local Zionist leaders and, a num- ber of physicians. including Dr. Joel Hamburger. Dr. Czapski was working on the planning for a num- ber of visits by Hebrew Uni- versity faculty members to alert the community to the expanding activities at the university in Jerusalem. He reiterated that all of Israel's universities are suf- fering a financial squeeze and tuition will again have to be raised. He said the budget of Hebrew Univer- sity has been cut almost 40 percent by inflation. "You can't stop research for five years." he said. "and then re-open without losing impetus." He is hop- ing that local chapters of American Friends of Hebrew University will work toward building the university's endowment funds to finance research. MISS HANDLER MRS.
