SIMIH1AT TORAH--A NEW BEGINNING

Sim hat Torah, the Jewish holiday of Rejoicing
in the Law, marks the beginning of the new year's
cycle of Torah readings.
Woven into the fabric of the Torah is the
reminder of the age-old tradition of Tzedakah-chari-
ty and concern for one's fellow man.

As Proverbs tells us,

He who is gracious to the poor lends to the Lord;
And He will repay him his good deed.

Therefore, as we rejoice with the Law, let us make
this new year a year of commitment to the future.
