Soviet affairs from Chicago
University.
While Dr. Sisco. was-
assistant secretary for Near
Eastern and South Asian
_affairs from 1968 to 1974 he
was the principle U.S.
negotiator on the Arab-

From 1972 to 1974, while
undersecretary of state, he
accompanied then Secre-
tary of State Henry Kissi-
