The current title for the
1977 edition has been bor-
rowed from the Ernst
Lubitsch classic. "Heaven
Can Wait," but has no rela-
tionship to the story of that
film. Warren Beatty is.pro-
ducing, co-directing and
starring in the picture to be
made for Paramount, with
Buck Henry co-directing
and portraying a role. Also
appearing in the current

William Friedkin who
guided such successful films
as "The French Con-
nection" and "The Exorc-
ist," currently on the screen
represented with "Sorce-
rer," now turns from fiction
to real life drama with the
tragic story of the Yab-
lonski family who were
murdered in Dec. 1969.
Joseph A. ("Jock") Yab-
lonski, an official of the coal
miners' union, together with
his wife and daughter, was
fatally shot, allegedly by
killers hired by an opposing
union faction.
The screenplay to the still
untitled film is being writ-
ten by Jeremy Larner
whose previous writing
credits include "The Candi-
date." Friedkin will pro-
