has planted a grove in mem-

The Festival Dancers of
the Jewish Community Cen-
ter are celebrating 10 years
of continuous performance
with a state-wide tour of
their new multi-media pre-
sentation entitled "Women-
srites."
The hour-long work ex-
plores the significant expe-
riences in women's life
from birth' to death. Using
dance. music. poetry. ritual
forms and visual projec-
tions. "Womensrites" repre-
sents a collaborative effort
involving a number of area
artists.
Projections are taken
from the '76 exhibition of
the Birmingham Society of
Women Painters. Esther
Broner. nationally known
Detroit author and play-
wright. was artistic consult-
ant in selecting the spoken
passages. Jo Snyder, Bir-
mingham artist, designed
the costumes. Elaine Ser-
ling of Farmington Hills ac-
companies several sections
with singing and guitar.
Members of the Festival
Dancers are Margo Cohen,
Rita Losh, Bunny Nickman,
Marcia Ferstenfeld, Phyllis
Berger, Connie Grossman,
Beverly Olen. Bonnie Stei-
ngold, Victoria Haydon and
Jennifer Pethick. The Festi-
val Dancers are directed by
Harriet Berg. Ms. Pethick
is assistant director.
