rabbi says that Rod Carew,
the Minnesota Twins black
baseball star, is reading in

the synagogue nursery
school. He said Carew at-
tended the services at
which his two daughters

Rabbi Kamens said that
when Mrs. Carew was
saying Kadish for her

services regularly with his
wife.
Carew has told Jewish
media that Friday night
Sabbath dinners are a
Carew family tradition and
that Jewish holidays are
even more special, an occa-
sion when the entire family
gathers at one home to cele-
brate together.
He also said he partici-
pates in Jewish communal
work in the Twin Cities, list-
