are excellent served cold as
a first course or main dish.

1 lb. frozen filet of sole, floun-
der, or cod (defrosted)
1 medium onion
1 egg
salt
pepper
1 tbsps. matzo meal

Grind the fish with an onion.
Add salt, pepper to taste. Mix
with egg and matzo meal.
Form into patties and fry. Let
patties cool. Mix tomato
paste, water, salt, pepper,
garlic powder to taste and
olive oil in a saucepan. Bring
to a boil and simmer for a few
mintues. Pour over fish pat-
- ties. Serve cold.

It is better to have nobi-
lity of character than nobi-
lity of birth.

cookies to serve with your
after-dinner tea or coffee.
Honey, of course, is a tradi-
tional New Year com-
ponent, conveying our wish-
es for a good and sweet
year.

2 cups flour

1/2 cup sugar
cup honey
2 medium eggs
1 /2 stick margarine
1 /2 tsp. baking soda
1 /4 cup coconut
almonds or chocolate chips

Mix all ingredients together
(except almonds or chocolate
chips) with a wooden spoon.
Shape into small balls and put
an almond or chocolate chips
in the center of each. Place
cookies on two large greased
cookie sheets. Bake at 375 de-
grees for about 12 minutes.
They should be soft and che-
wy. Makes four dozen .
