Rosenberg will assume the duties of na- tional executive director of the Canadian Friends of Tel Aviv University beginning Oct. 1. Dr. Rosenberg was for 18 years senior rabbi of Can- ada's largest Jewish'congre- gation. Beth Tzedec Syna- gogue of Toronto. He currently lectures on Jewish history at the Uni- versity of Toronto. in addi- tion to writing a syndicated weekly column "Lines on Life" for Canadian news- papers. Dr. Rosenberg and Beth Tzedec filed several counter-suits in court over the firing of the congrega- tion's educational director and later dismissal of Rabbi Rosenberg. Tel Aviv Univer- sity offered a three-week summer seminar session for 54 American high school teachers on the Middle East. contemporary Israel. and the Middle East con- flict. all courses of which were given by lecturers of Tel Aviv University. The school now has 18 students in a joint first and second grade class and a kiridergar- ten. Mrs. Meira Miller of Ann Arbor will teach the first and second graders. She has a BA in religion from the University of Chicago and a master's degree in elementary education from Tufts University.
