be set before the end of this
month for an adminis-
trative trial of a finding
that a Queens bank may
have discriminated against
an Orthodox Jewish employ-
ee who was dismissed after
she asked for time off for
the Shavuot holidays. ac-
cording to the National Jew-
ish Commission on Law and
Public Affairs.
Sidney Kwestel, COLPA
president, said a complaint
was filed on behalf of the
Woman last April with the
New York State Division of
Human Rights. and that the
division found "probable
cause" to believe the Ja-
maica Savings Bank was
guilty of discrimination.
Kwestel said the next step
is the administrative trial.
