Daphna Expecting Tour Record

New records are being
set here for tourism to Is-
rael and the increased inter-
est was highly commended
in official cir-
cles.
Notable are
the following
upcoming
tours
that
have
be en
completed by
Daphna Tours
Hershkovitz of Israel
under the direction of Ben-
jamin Hershkovitz, the resi-
dent manager of the bureau
in Michigan:
Approximately 250 per-
sons will leave in Septem-
ber for a tour by Perfection
Lodge of the Masons. The
American College of Foot
Surgeons will have approx-
imately 125 persons partici-
pating in a December tour,
in conjunction with an Is-
rael Medical Association sci-
entific seminar.
There are also approx-
imately 200 persons belong-

preparation for the organi-
zation's 28th Annual Stag
Day festivities scheduled
for Sept. 7 at Franklin Hills
Country Club.
The
Detroit
Service
Group is the year-round or-
ganization for workers of
the Allied Jewish Cam-
paign-Israel Emergency
Fund.
"Stag Day is a traditional
fun day for Campaign work-
ers, where they can relax
with fellow workers, play
golf or tennis, and enjoy a
buffet lunch and awards din-
ner," said DSG President
Arthur Howard.
The DSG Loving Cup to
the Campaign division with
the largest percentage in-
crease in contributions over
the previous year's division
total will be awarded at the
dinner.
Door prizes and awards
to winning golfers will also
be given at the dinner, said
Stag Day chairman Thomas
I. Klein.

sion in December.
Daphna Tours is expect-
ing a dramatic increase in
tourism to Israel based on
committments already in
hand. Those include a Chris-
tian Holy Land tour in Feb-
ruary which is expected to
have between 1,500 and
2,000 participants.
Tours already completed
this year, according to
Hershkovitz, include the
United Jewish Appeal Mis-
sion in March, Northbrook
Presbyterian Church, Tam-
O-Shanter Country Club,
Temple Israel, two Bar Mit-
