Aug. 18, 1897 in San Fran-
cisco by a group df 34
women, BBW has grown
into a volunteer organiza-
tion of over 150,000 mem-
bers worldwide.
Organized originally as a
social organization, Bnai
Brith Women has enlarged
its purpose and scope over
the years. shifting to pro-
moting the culture and tra-
ditions of Judaism, support-
ing Israel, and providing
community service pro-
grams.
One of BBW's major per-
manent projects, the Chil-
dren's Home in Israel, is
marking its 25th anniver-
sary this" month. A residen-
tial treatment center for
the rehabilitation of emo-
tionally disturbed boys, it is
the only privately estab-
lished institution of its kind

er be entitled to service-
flats in the capital, Finance
Minister Simha Ehrlich told
a Knesset committee
Tuesday.
