The petition refers to the
platform of the Democratic
Party. adopted July 15.
1976, which "recognizes and
supports the established
status of Jerusalem as the
capital of Israel. with free
access td all its holy places
provided to all faiths. As a
symbol of this stand, the
U.S. embassy should be
moved from Tel Aviv to Je-
rusalem.
Presentation of the peti-
tion will be made by Louis
Panush, chairman of public
affairs of the Detroit dis-
trict of the Zionist organiza-
tion of America, and Max-
well Hoffman, president,
Detroit ZOA.
A similar presentation is
expected to be made to
Sen. Donald Riegle in Wash-
ington shortly.

Masons is planning a pilgri-
mage to Israel this fall of
more than 200 persons rep-
resenting
lodge mem-
bers and their
families.

tour
will be led by
the lodge's
worshipful
master, Max

Max Kruger elected most
worshipful master for the
state of Michigan, Ronald
Schwartz of Craftsman
Lodge, will also join the
tour. While in Israel the
group will m,eet with Jo-
seph Bar-Ner, grand secre-

the State of Israel in Tel

Israel Stipends
for Flint Teens

The Flint Jewish Commu-
nity Council has Israel
scholarships available for
Flint area high school stu-
dents who would like to
study in Israel during the
summer of 1978.
To be elgible, a student
must complete the ninth
grade by June 1978 and
their parents must be mem-
bers of the FJCC. There
will be three-hour, Sunday
morning classes during the
school year for those who
win the scholarship.
