RAMAT GAN—Groups of
U.S. and Canadian students
have begun arriving at Bar-
Ilan University for an exten-

They are combining a visit
to Israel with studies which

two groups of teachers. One
group of teachers of Jewish
studies is studying Bible
and Jewish thought. They
are staying on campus and
will be at the university for
five weeks. Their lessons
are being combined with ac-
ademically guided tours
and social activities. This is
the fifth year that Jewish
teachers from Canada are
studying at Bar-Ilan in the
summer.
The second group of Cana-
dians, who also live on
campus, are teachers of
general subjects in Jewish
high schools. Both Cana-
dian groups have the sup-
port of the Canadian Zionist
Federation, the education
and culture department and
the Torah department of
the World Zionist Organiza-
tion.
For the second time,
there are a group of reli-
gious students from the Miz-
rachi Youth Organization,
Noam, in the United States.
They are participating in
Jewish studies courses.
A group of college stu-
dents have also come from
New York, with the coopera-
tion of the Torah depart-
ment of the World Zionist
Organization, for a wide va-
riety of courses in English
and also in Hebrew for
those with an adequate com-
mand of the language. The
college students have three
programs, each with a dif-
ferent academic emphasis.
Participants spend about
