Lena Kaplan, 90

Lena Kaplan,
mer businesswoman active
in Jewish and benevolent or-
ganizations, died July 14 at
age 90.
Born in New York, Mrs.
Kaplan lived most of her
life in Detroit. She worked
in various department
stores in Detroit, Ypsilanti,
and Ann Arbor from 1923 to
1953.
She was the oldest mem-
ber of Adat Shalom Syna-
gogue. She also was a mem-
ber of American Mizrachi
Women, Jewish National.
Fund, Sheruth League,
Ladies Home Relief So-
e;-ty, National Council of
sh Women, Women's
ORT, Hadassah,
Bnai Brith and was active
in efforts for the Allied Jew-
ish Campaign and Mo'Os
Hitim.
She leaves a son, Sey-
niour D. ; four grand-
children and three great-
granddaughters.

Mr. Glasser was the co-
founder of Glasser and Hoff-
man Plumbing Contractors.
The company was founded
in 1911.
He was a 60-year mem-
ber of Ionic Lodge of the
Masons, a member of the
Detroit Consistory, Moslem
Temple, Pisgah Lodge of
Bnai Brith and a member
of Temple Beth El for more
than- 55 years.
He leaves a son, Irwin;
two daughters, Mrs. John
(Rosalie) Eliasohn of East
Lansing and MrS. Harold
(Marcia) Singer of Dema-
rest, N.J.; and seven grand-
children.

by a son, Dr. Aubrey of Wa-
terloo, Ontario; three broth-
