NEW YORK—Dr. Mayer Subrin of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., is the regional chair- man of an international committee that has hel ped to realize a long-cheris ed dream of Sigmund Freud's by creating the Sigmund Freud Chair in Psycho- analysis at the Hebrew Uni- versity of Jerusalem. The chair will be dedicated Aug. 24 during the Congress of the International Psycho- analytic Association in Je- rusalem. When the Hebrew Univer- sity of Jerusalem was found- ed in 1925, Freud, along with such men as Albert Einstein, Chaim Weizmann and Martin Buber, became one of its original gover- nors. In 1933, when Hitler's book-burning foreshadowed the end of free science and art in Europe, Freud explic- itly requested that a chair in psychoanalysis be estab- lished at what he called "our university." Anna Freud, Freud's daughter, is as honorary chairwoman of the international drive to make her father's dream come true. Mexico Presents Tapestry to Israel MEXICO CITY (JTA)— Mexico has presented a gift to Israel, a tapestry by the Mexican-Jewish artist Leon- ardo Nierman, titled "Bible Fire."
