It would be held in Las Vegas, where Sid has lived 31 years . . . and the star- studded lineup that would. attend his dinner would no doubt be among the great- est assemblage of entertai- ners and celebrites ever gathered at one time. Sid may accept . . . be- cause the City of Hope is be- ginning to do research work into Ileitis, with which one of his family is afflicted .. . A foundation in his name would be for the research into a cure of Ileitis . . . Sid is going from city to city at his own expense, "feeling out" the nation as to how much money can be raised . . . Whatever is gath- ered for Sid will be matched by the U.S. govern- ment. Sid was in Detroit last week . . . After 31 years, he had to register all over again at the Flamingo Hotel in Vegas, where he has lived all this time . . . The Flamingo went on com- puter and Sid became a "new guest" once more .. . that is, only as far as the computer was concerned. Of course, other things have changed quite a bit there too ... like still anoth- er 500 rooms to be added by_ next May . . . and the pre- sent dollar slot machine only one of its kind in Las Vegas that has a $215,000 jackpot payoff.
