ruary claims that a Palesti-
nian state alongside Israel
wuld not have a con-
stitution, meaning "the first
article of the unwritten con-
stitution will be a call for a
struggle to return the Pales-
tinian territories on. which
Israel rests."

New Laser Gun

NEW YORK—A new,
laser-aimed American sub-
machine gun, which can-
fire up to 30 .22 cal. bullets
in a second, is reportedly in
the Israeli arsenal.
The American 180 gun re-
ceived publicity recently as
police officials debated its
use in urban areas. A- rifle-
man shoots the weapon
when the red laser beam
shows, up on the target.
The 10-pound gun can be
equipped with a silencer
and is deadly accurate and
portable.
A spokesman for Ameri-
can International Corp. in
Utah, which makes the gun,
said Israel has purchased
the weapon. There are un-
confirmed reports that Is-
raeli commandos used it
during the on Uganda's
Entebbe Airport last July.

Envoy Rejects USSR Protests
onU.S.HUman Rights Campaign

NEW YORK (JTA)—Al-
lard K. Lowenstein, U.S.
representative to the United
Nations Commission on
Human Rights, says that
while Russian leaders ac-
cuse the U.S. of "meddl-
ing" in their country's inter-
nal affairs, "the' Soviet
Union has never stopped
criticizing" the United
States.
"Read Pravda any time
you want to find out about
violations of human rights
in the United States, as
viewed by the Soviet
Union," _Lowenstein told a
luncheon meeting sponsored
by the American Jewish
Congress at - the Harmonie
Club.
"Brezhnev talks all the
time about the right to pur-
sue the ideological conflict

Weizmann Institute interest
in research with industrial
applications has been high-
lighted by the estab-
lishment of a Center for In-
dustrial Research at the In-
stitute, to be headed by
Prof. David Vofsi, a scien-
tist with experience in in-
dustry.
The new center will
coordinate all industrially-
oriented research at the In-
stitute, with special empha-
sis on the work being done
in the chemical field. It will ,
also act as an intermediary
between Behovot scientists
and industrialists in Israel
and abroad.
An important aim of the
