Thursday in the synagogue,
it was announced by Neil
Kalef, chairman. Max Sosin
will be installing officer. Of-
ficers to be installed are
Harry Newman, president;
Nick Gonte, William Thugut
and Nathan Light, vice pres-
idents; Bernard Dosie,
treasurer; Simeon Free-
dman, Sam Rosenberg and
Max Mondshine, secretar-
ies; and Lester Schloner,
sergeant-at-arms. Entertain-
meat and refreshments will
follow. Friends are invited
at no charge.

group of black Christians

verted to Judaism last
week under Conservative
Jewish auspices.
Raymond (Prince) Craw-
ford. who is employed as a

After passing a written ex-
amination, Crawford was
led to the mikva. He later
was welcomed into the fold
and presented with his con-
version certificate. At Beth
Achim, he and his wife re-
peated their wedding vows
in a traditional Jewish cere-
mony. The couple then re-
ceived their ketuba—Jewish
marriage certificate.
A Beth Din. comprised of
members of the Beth
Achim evening minyan. pre-
sided over the ceremonies.
The couple was tendered a
kidush at the evening's con-
clusion.
Crawford served as spirit-
ual leader of the Isek Abra-
ham assembly until May
when he discontinued the
services owing to "lack of
support." Furniture from
the building, located on
James Couzens, has been
put in storage. The mem-
