DAVE FEKAY, general
manager at Town and Coun-
try Club, recently taped a

segment of the Mike
Douglas Show with Neil Se-
daka and Robert Gou-
let...Plans for it being
shown in this area are -
around July 14...The MD
Show is on Channel 2, 4
p.m. •
He prepared all flaming
dishes with their "assist-
ance"...Steak Douglas
(Frontenac Sherry wine,
Christian Bros. brandy,
vodka, cognac and Scotch),
Veal Zedaka (the sherry
and brandy), three sauces
and three vegetables, while
engaged in humbrous con-
versation with the three
stars...All this in only 10
minutes ...His usual prepara-
tion is 15 to 20 minutes.
Dave's book, "The Sen-
suous Kitchen," has been
promoted and distributed
by his performing demo-
promos where he could get
an audience...local tv,
radio, organizations, clubs
and restaurants...This will
be the first time on national
television.
He and wife Joann drove
to Philadelphia for the tap-
ing in their Sensuous Kitch-
en van...All three sauces on
the show were made ahead
of time in their motel room.
No food was left for those
on the show...Houston
Astros, in town to play
Philadelphia Phillies, stage
hands, producers, director,
floor men all had a gour-
met eating ball.

application to clear the lot
in back of Gallery Restau-
rant and use part of it for
more parking, was denied
by the Southfield City Coun-
cil in a strange pro-
cedure...One of the coun-
cilmen had to leave before
Stephen's case came up,
and missed out on hearing
the neighbors who were for
his clearing the filthy dan-
gerous lot at a cost of over
$30,000...He returned only to
hear a couple of neighbors,
talk against it.
Councilwoman Lillian Jaf-
fee said it was up to the
city to clean up the
area... and voted against
it...Let's see how fast they
clean it up.
Council president Martin
Hollander asked about the
streets being repaired by
the Gallery, on 10 Mile,
east of Evergreen...Let's
see how fast this is done.
The Southfield Council
should be ashamed of it-
self...The neighbors have
lived with this lot for years
and luckily, nothing yet has
happened to anyone... We'd 19106.
